MAILPAC 5.5 contains the following enhancements:
1. Mailpac 5.5 is compatible with Sage ACCPAC ERP version 5.5
2. Mailpac now allows delivery of unposted receipts
3. Mailpac allows delivery of Accounts Receivable Statements including National Accounts
4. Mailpac allows delivery of Order Entry Order Confirmations
5. Mailpac allows delivery of Order Entry Credit and Debit Notes
6. Mailpac now allows delivery of emailed documents via SMTP
7. Mailpac Options screen has a new security feature for Mailpac activations
8. Sage ACCPAC ERP 5.4 and prior, accounts receivable customers had two additional choices for delivery
method. These were “Fax” which sent documents to the customers Fax number and “Contacts Fax” which
sent documents to the Contacts Fax number. The Fax and Contacts Fax options have been removed from
Sage ACCPAC ERP 5.5. This means that although Mailpac will allow you to select delivery to Fax numbers
manually by over-riding the default delivery method for a customer, you must select a delivery method
of eMail or Customers Email and then enter the Fax number into the customers email address to
automatically deliver documents to fax numbers.
Mailpac now determines whether the value in an email field is a fax number or an email address and
can be configured to automatically add faxing prefixes or suffixes to fax numbers e.g. the
“[FAX:12345678]”. This means you no longer have to enter these prefixes e.g. FAX: into every customer
or vendors email address or fax number record.
To do this you set the “Email Software Protocol” in Mailpac Options and Mailpac will add the prefix
or suffix to any documents whose email address contains a fax number, but not to any documents sent
to an email address. You do not have to enter anything into this field for Mailpac to work with
standard email addresses, but if you do enter a value, it must contain the wildcard character
i.e. “*”. Refer to the Mailpac Options section of this manual for more details.
